A.Banda 2024 — Photographers From / In Sardinia

Su Palatu Fotografia and Vigne Surrau organized the sixth annual A.Banda exhibition, devoted to contemporary photography from and in Sardinia. From 240 applications, 100 photographers were selected to represent a broad cross-section of contemporary practice. Their 100 works were scheduled for display for a full year in the gardens of Vigne Surrau in Arzachena, beginning with an inauguration on 29 June 2024.

Every exhibited work was entered for the Surrau 2024 Prize. The specialist jury was to choose a shortlist of 20 and then five winners sharing €7,000: €3,000 for first place and €1,000 for each of the next four places. The jury comprised Tino Demuro, president of Vigne Surrau and jury president; Sonia Borsato; Valeria Brandano; Mariolina Cosseddu; Ivo Serafino Fenu; Mario Saragato; and Luca Spano.

A separate €3,000 People’s Jury Prize was to go to the photographer receiving the most visitor votes. Public voting ran from 29 June through 30 September, with the winner to be announced after counting. Soter published an accompanying catalogue containing all exhibited works and critical texts by curators Salvatore Ligios and Luca Spano.
