Vineyard and terroir
The production area encompasses Foglianise and Ponte in the province of Benevento. The vineyards stand at 400 m above sea level on volcanic soils composed of grey tuff, ash and black pumice. Plantings date from various years beginning in 1970. The vines are trained to simple Guyot with eight buds per plant at a density of 3,000 vines per hectare. Integrated, low-environmental-impact viticulture is practiced. Wine yield is 6,500 litres per hectare.
Grapes
100% Falanghina.
Vinification
Harvest takes place during the second ten days of September. White-wine vinification comprises gentle pressing and cold settling, followed by fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled 18–20°C for approximately 20 days.
Ageing
Approximately three months in stainless steel.
Tasting profile
Pale straw yellow. The intense floral and fruit-led aroma includes banana, tropical fruit and white peach. The palate is savoury and balanced, with a pleasantly fresh, light character.
Serving and ageing
Serve at 10°C. The stated ageing capacity is two years. Available bottle sizes are 375 and 750 ml.
