Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Montepulciano and Aglianico grapes are grown in Molise, the youngest region in Central Italy, created in 1963 when it separated from Abruzzo.
Vinification
Traditional winemaking. Fermentation takes place at 25 °C, with regular pumping over during the first 3–4 days. After fermentation the wine is racked and undergoes malolactic fermentation, followed by another 2–3 rackings.
Ageing
The wine is aged partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in 500-litre oak tonneaux, for at least 36 months. It can be stored in a cool, dry place for more than 6 years.
Tasting profile
Rich, full-bodied and well balanced.
Label / history
Part of the "Collezione Privata", a special collection celebrating Italy's long tradition of high-quality, terroir-driven wines made from grape varieties typical of their growing areas. The label has a deliberately retro design based on one of the earliest labels used by the Tombacco winery.
