Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Montepulciano and Aglianico fruit is grown in Molise, a region of Central Italy established in 1963 after separating from Abruzzo.
Vinification
Traditional vinification begins with fermentation at 25 °C. The must is pumped over regularly during the first 3–4 days. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine is racked and undergoes malolactic fermentation, followed by a further two or three rackings.
Ageing
The wine ages partly in stainless-steel tanks and partly in 500 L oak tonneaux for at least 36 months.
Tasting profile
Rich and harmonious, with a smooth, enveloping palate and a broad, layered aroma.
Label / history
The Vintage range has a deliberately retro appearance inspired by one of Tombacco’s earliest historic labels. In 2016, the wine received a silver medal at the Mundus Vini competition.
