Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in vineyards in Alto Adige at 400–550 metres above sea level. The name Stoan refers to the stony terroir.
Vinification
Carefully selected grapes are gently pressed after harvest. Fermentation takes place in large oak barrels at a controlled temperature of 18–20 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Label / history
Stoan belongs to Tramin’s “Selezioni Terminum” range, made from selected grapes from successful vintages. Stoan means “stone” (Stein in German). The name “Terminum” derives from the name used for the village of Tramin in ancient Roman times.
