Vineyard and terroir
The Pinot Grigio grapes are grown in Salento, in the province of Taranto.
Vinification
Gentle maceration and soft pressing, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature of 14 °C.
Ageing
Aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve the grape's pure character and freshness.
Tasting profile
Elegant, with a distinctive fruity and floral aroma. Fresh and well balanced on the palate, with notes of ripe pear alongside mineral, citrus and floral hints, brought together by harmonious acidity.
Serving and pairing
Suited to a summer aperitif, fish and seafood, or richer white meat dishes. Versatile and food-friendly, it can be enjoyed throughout the year.
Label / history
"12 e Mezzo" means "Twelve and a Half". The collection reflects Varvaglione's philosophy of growing traditional local Apulian grape varieties and making wine from them with modern winemaking methods. The range includes 8 different wines, all at 12.5% alcohol.
