Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on limestone and clay soils in the Rosso Piceno area, which extends across the provinces of Ancona, Macerata, Fermo and Ascoli Piceno.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in mid-October, early in the morning, placed in small crates and held in refrigerated rooms before transport to the winery. After pressing, fermentation takes place in 200 L stainless-steel tanks fitted with pressure and temperature controls. Maceration lasts approximately 15–20 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for longer than Imprime Rosso Piceno DOC and is released on 1 November in the year following the harvest.
