Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from estate vineyards in the commune of Sessa Aurunca, planted between 1963 and 1992 at an altitude of 140 metres. The soils are tuff with fairly high levels of phosphorus and potassium. The vines are Guyot-trained, with the planting density given as 4,500–4,800 hl/ha.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the second half of September. Cold maceration is followed by gentle pressing, then fermentation at 10–12 °C for 20 days.
Ageing
The wine rests in stainless-steel tanks for three months.
