Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards were planted between 1991 and 1995.
Grapes
The blend is predominantly Sangiovese, with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vinification
Each variety is harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and vinified separately. The batches are blended under the supervision of the master blender.
Ageing
Each batch spends 12 months in small Taransaud French oak barrels before blending.
Label / history
The wine takes its name from a small village on the Villa Pillo estate.
