Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the estate’s vineyards, where hilly terrain and proximity to the coast create a distinctive microclimate. Rainfall is generally concentrated in autumn and winter and remains within normal annual levels. Occasional sea breezes contribute to the wine’s aromatic character.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness: Merlot in the first week of September and Sangiovese in the second. They undergo two manual selections, first in the vineyard and then on a sorting table. After fine crushing, the berries ferment in stainless-steel vats at a controlled 12 °C for at least one month.
Ageing
The wine rests in steel tanks for five months and undergoes cold stabilization.
Label / history
“Massaia” literally means “housewife.” The label depicts a spirited Italian girl.
