Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on hillsides around Verona in the Rosso Veronese area. The reddish-brown soils contain basalt deposits.
Vinification
The best bunches are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and placed in small crates to dry partially for two months. This evaporation concentrates the juice, increasing its sugar concentration and potential alcohol. Traditional vinification includes two to three weeks of skin contact.
Ageing
The wine ages for 10–14 months in new French oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Powerful, concentrated and bold, with generous aromas, the wine recalls Amarone while expressing a more modern style.
Label / history
The first vintage was released in 1986. Zeni identifies it as the first single-variety Corvina wine made by a Verona winery and aged in new French oak barrels.
