Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown on sunny hills in Maremma, in clay soils rich in minerals. The estate lies in the foothills of Montemassi, between the Tyrrhenian coast and the metal-bearing hills. Its 430 ha include 160 ha of vineyards, surrounded by pine trees and olive trees. Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are Guyot-trained, while Syrah is trained using the Cordon Speronato system.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and sorted at the winery, with only fully ripe bunches retained. Each variety is vinified separately at a controlled temperature and macerated for about 30 days. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
The wine matures for 14 months in first- and second-use 350-litre tonneaux, followed by 10 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Elegant and refined in style, with bold aromas of black fruit, spices and herbs and an expressive character.

The 2014 vintage received gold medals at the Berliner Wein Trophy in 2016 and 2017, and silver medals at the International Wine Challenge and the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2017.
