Beyond Wines and Charles Mignon bring Léon Launois Champagne to Tesco

The Champagne, launched exclusively at Tesco in August, is available in nearly 700 stores, while Beyond Wines also reports progress for Liquid Diamond and Faustino at Sainsbury’s.

Beyond Wines worked with Champagne producer Charles Mignon to introduce Léon Launois exclusively at Tesco in August. According to the UK supplier, the Champagne is now available in nearly 700 stores.1

Holly Skinner, Tesco national account manager at Beyond Wines, described the listing as a highlight and said the Champagne costs £20. She also reported a strongly positive response from wine writers attending Tesco’s press tasting.1

Progress at Sainsbury’s

Beyond Wines said Liquid Diamond, its own Prosecco brand, continues to perform well and grow at Sainsbury’s. The company created the brand in 2021 and has supported it through brand creation, commercial development, content and work with the retailer.1

The supplier also reported that Faustino’s performance at Sainsbury’s grew by 17% over the latest 26 weeks. It linked that progress to its longstanding relationship with the Familia Martínez Zabala team, without specifying the metric measured by the growth figure.1

A broader commercial and marketing offer

Beyond Wines has relaunched its website and updated its logo, brand identity and mission statement, “We Go Beyond.” Jodie Newman, who has worked with the company for many years, helped develop the new branding and website.1

The company now combines brand ownership and distribution with commercial and marketing services. Its work for producers and brands seeking access to the UK market can include category analysis, positioning, commercial presentations, social-media content and activation, drawing on experience in both the on-trade and off-trade.1

XXL and Delância

Beyond Wines cited XXL and Delância as examples of brands it has helped secure UK listings and distribution. XXL offers fruit-led wines at 16% ABV, while Delância produces Portuguese botanical sparkling wines with 0 sugar and 10% ABV.1

Its work with the 2 brands includes strategy development, research into possible flavours and formats, social media, public relations and consumer content, Amazon listing materials and retailer presentations.1

Costs, regulation and sustainable growth

Beyond Wines identified duty increases, Extended Producer Responsibility charges, preparations for the Deposit Return Scheme, transport costs and fuel surcharges as pressures on supply-chain margins in 2026. It said cost-of-living constraints are also making consumers more selective, requiring suppliers to balance cost control, quality and value while demonstrating that products merit retail space.1

The company said quality, reliable supply and strong relationships remain essential, while cash flow, margins, regulatory obligations and their commercial effects have become especially important over the past 5 years. Its stated approach is to take ambitious but commercially disciplined decisions and pursue sustainable growth.1

Plans for the next stage

Beyond Wines said it is a small, experienced team and will examine how to expand in suitable areas over the coming year while retaining the personal, hands-on approach valued by its partners. It described itself as having progressed over the past 6 years and said that in 2020 it was young and ambitious but less experienced in running a business.1

For the next 12 to 18 months, the company plans to consolidate its growth, take calculated risks and balance opportunities with security for its team, partners and customers. It identified private-label work and new product development as priorities, with an emphasis on translating consumer trends into relevant wines, flavours and formats.1

Commercial director Stuart Bond said the company’s launches and listings reflect the work of a team focused on its producers and customers. Beyond Wines also intends to increase its involvement with the Drinks Trust in 2027 after attending the charity’s recent gala; The Buyer disclosed that Beyond Wines is its commercial partner.1
