Bologna to host the 15th FIVI Independent Winegrowers’ Market
More than 1,000 winegrowers from every Italian region are expected at BolognaFiere on November 21–23, 2026, with 8,000 wines available to taste and buy. A presentation tasting will introduce the fair on November 18.
A three-day market at BolognaFiere
BolognaFiere and the Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers, FIVI, will hold the 15th Mercato dei Vini dei Vignaioli Indipendenti at the BolognaFiere exhibition center from November 21 to 23, 2026. The event brings together producers who cultivate their own vineyards and sell their own wines, the model promoted by FIVI as fundamental to the identity of Italy’s independent winegrowers.1
Organizers expect more than 1,000 winegrowers from every Italian region and say that 8,000 wines will be available for tasting and purchase. Independent olive growers belonging to FIOI will also participate, together with European winegrowers from national associations affiliated with CEVI, the European confederation of independent winegrowers.1
Preview tasting on November 18
A presentation tasting will take place at 11:30 a.m. on November 18 at Caffè Pathé by Forno Brisa in Piazza Re Enzo, inside Cinema Modernissimo. The event will introduce the principal features and wider program of the market, with FIVI members’ wines accompanied by a selection of local finger foods.1
Scheduled speakers are Daniele Ara, the Bologna city official responsible for schools, agriculture and agrifood; FIVI president and winegrower Rita Babini; BolognaFiere exhibition manager Alice Giuliani; and Confcommercio Ascom Bologna director general Giancarlo Tonelli.1
The presentation will also set out the reasons for the 2026 “Vignaiolo come noi” and “Leonildo Pieropan” awards, although the announcement did not identify the recipients. Press accreditation and master-class registration are being managed through the event’s official channels.1
Master classes and events across Bologna
The 2026 program includes four master classes devoted to native grape varieties and prominent Italian wine territories, adding an educational component for wine professionals and enthusiasts to the fair’s tastings and direct sales.1
The “Notte bianca della ristorazione,” or White Night of Restaurants, will extend the program into restaurants and other venues in Bologna and the surrounding province. Promoted by Fipe-Confcommercio Ascom Bologna, the initiative is intended to connect the exhibition with local hospitality businesses.1
