Cabernet Franc Masters announced for December 6 in Paso Robles amid differing winery counts

The 4th annual Cabernet Franc Masters was announced for December 6, 2026, at Cass Winery Event Center in Paso Robles, with more than 60 wines, comparative tastings, culinary pairings and conversations with winemakers. The published announcements differed on participation: 1 said more than 20 producers and named 22 wineries, while another said more than 25 wineries.

The 4th annual Cabernet Franc Masters was scheduled for Sunday, December 6, 2026, from 10:00 to 15:00 PST at Cass Winery Event Center, 7350 Linne Road, Paso Robles. Presented by LXV Wine, the event was planned as a day of seminars, tastings, food pairings and meetings with winemakers focused on Cabernet Franc from the Paso Robles AVA.2 · 3

The announced program comprised more than 60 wines and was intended to explore Paso Robles’ Bordeaux identity beyond Cabernet Sauvignon. Organizers said side-by-side tasting would show how vineyard site, elevation and climate shape Cabernet Franc across the region’s 11 appellations, while an international seminar would compare local expressions with wines from the Loire Valley and other regions.2

Program

From 10:00 to 11:00, Sam Schmitt of the Central Coast School of Wine was due to lead “World of Franc: Global Expressions,” a comparative tasting spanning the Loire Valley, Paso Robles and other wine regions. From 11:15 to 12:15, Wes Hagen of Allan Hancock College was to present “The Versatile Franc,” examining Cabernet Franc through food-and-wine pairings.2

The grand tasting was scheduled from 12:30 to 15:00, with artisanal food pairings and opportunities to meet winemakers. The grand-tasting ticket was priced at $85, while a $125 day pass included both seminars and the grand tasting; the announcement directed buyers to cabfrancmasters.com or (805) 296-1902.2
