Ai Palazzi

History

1946 — The acquisition of Ai Palazzi

The Dal Bianco family’s wine business began in 1946, when Epifanio Dal Bianco acquired the Ai Palazzi estate at Gorgo al Monticano. At the time of acquisition, the property comprised five hectares of vineyards and a farmhouse.

The restoration and the Masottina name

During the restoration of the farmhouse, the word MASOTTINA was uncovered on one of its original walls. The rediscovered inscription subsequently supplied the name adopted by the family’s wine company.

Ai Palazzi remains identified as the Dal Bianco family’s historic estate. At least one single vineyard at Gorgo al Monticano continues to be associated with the property.
