About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyard lies in the hills of Valpolicella, north of Verona. The vines average 28 years of age and range from 10 to 40 years, with some native vines more than 50 years old.
Grapes
The blend includes a small proportion of other native red varieties.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand from mid- to late September. After destemming and pressing, fermentation lasts 10 days at 22–28 °C in temperature-controlled tanks. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
In early spring, the wine is racked and continues to mature in stainless-steel tanks before bottling.
