About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit grows in the northwestern part of the Tenuta La Lombarda estate, at approximately 300 m above sea level.
Vinification
The grapes were harvested between 28 and 30 August, either early in the morning or late at night, and transported directly to the winery. They underwent a firm pressing with dry ice to preserve their fresh aromas, followed by six hours of cold maceration on the lees, also with dry ice. After a second, gentler pressing, the must fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine remained on its lees for four months, with weekly bâtonnage. It was bottled in early March 2012 and rested for a further two months in the winery’s cellars.
Vintage notes
Warm weather and a long 2012 growing season gave the wine a rich character.
