2022 harvest

Harvest began in mid-August with the white varieties and finished during the first week of October with Frappato and Nero d’Avola. A rainier spring allowed the limestone soils to store water for the dry, windy summer. Heat and humidity attracted cicalina, but the estate made no specific intervention and kept customary sulphur and copper treatments to a minimum. Rigorous selection during picking and in the cellar removed insufficiently mature fruit. The vintage produced both SP68 wines, Frappato, Siccagno, Grotte Alte and all four Vini di Contrada: BB, PT, FL and SM.
