About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Part of the Vini Orsone collection of single-variety wines from Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, associated with the region’s ponca soil.
Grapes
100% Friulano, a variety cultivated locally for centuries and closely connected with the culture and cuisine of the Colli Orientali.
Tasting profile
Medium-bodied, with ripe pear and peach aromas and flavors over a fresh mineral framework and lively acidity. A delicate almond note marks the long finish. Additional published commentary describes a bright straw-yellow color with golden reflections, followed by dried peach, pear, apple, woodland herbs and sage. The palate is intense and substantial yet lifted by acidity, with a savory, mineral and persistent conclusion.
Serving and pairing
Pair with Prosciutto di San Daniele and other cured meats, Montasio and other fresh cheeses, or fish-based antipasti.
Label / history
Friulano has been grown in the region for centuries and forms an integral part of the food and wine culture of the Colli Orientali.
