2024: A Promising Vintage for Bertani Wines

The 2024 season began with early budbreak following mild March temperatures and frequent rain. Spring frost affected some areas, but prompt plant-health work limited serious damage. Heavy rainfall in May and June demanded rigorous vineyard management while supporting vegetative growth.

Heat waves in July and August accelerated veraison and ripening. Harvesting Corvina and Rondinella for messa a riposo began in early September in the sunniest vineyards. Although late-September rain complicated the final stage, the selected crop remained healthy and aromatic, with marked acidity and salinity.

Day-to-night temperature variation in the drying lofts supported the appassimento process. Early musts showed fine tannins and lively acidity, pointing toward a classical profile combining freshness, concentration, elegance and ageing potential.
