Bertani opens its centenary winery

Bertani reopened its Grezzana winery on 1 May 2024 after renovating more than 400 m² devoted to hospitality. Westway Architects, led by Maurizio Condoluci, combined contemporary architecture with restored historic elements, archive material and colours inspired by Verona.

The project created Sala Fondatori, Sala Archi and Sala Torchi, connected by a handmade acidified-concrete floor. Sala Archi incorporated the arches of an older building and a museum-style route through Bertani's history. Original wicker baskets and an arela led visitors toward the historic cellar and illustrated the manual placement of intact bunches for appassimento.

Two visitor routes were introduced: Valpolicella Classica, with a historic-cellar tour and four current wines, and The Library Experience, devoted to six decades of Amarone vintages. A Wine Club offering access to historic releases and special tastings followed in spring 2024.
