Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese comes from vineyards in several key parts of Tuscany, including Sieci, Siena and the Maremma. The vines are young.
Vinification
The must is vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for 6 months before bottling.

Label / history
Casamatta is made by Bibi Graetz, an artist with a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts, who grew up in a family of artists. The winery is in Fiesole. Graetz owns 4 hectares of vineyards and rents a further 10.5 hectares. Apart from the white "Casamata", all his wines are made from native Tuscan grape varieties. His favourite wine, Testamatta, takes its name from a phrase meaning "crazy head".
