Giving the gift of a wine tasting in the Langhe: ideas for an elegant and memorable experience

A winery tasting is framed as a gift of time, place and shared experience rather than a consumable object. It does not require specialist knowledge: the visit can appeal through the vineyard, cellar, landscape and work behind the wine.

A complete experience should include the vineyards and production spaces, explanation of farming and cellar choices, and a focused rather than indiscriminate selection of wines. Small groups leave space for questions and discussion. Comparing Brunella, Cerequio and Villero adds particular value by demonstrating how soil, exposure and microclimate shape separate expressions of Nebbiolo.

Three Boroli itineraries are described. “Scents of Nebbiolo” introduces the variety through Langhe DOC and Barolo interpretations. “Barolo Vintage” compares different years to show the influence of season and time. “Only Barolo” moves from classic Barolo to the individual crus. The experience takes place in Guido Boroli’s glass-walled tasting room above the Brunella vineyards.

The visit can be extended through Locanda del Pilone, with a bistro, Michelin-starred restaurant, accommodation and pool. Groups of more than ten can arrange a tailored visit directly with the winery.
