300,000 Bees in Bottega’s Vineyard in Vittorio Veneto
On World Bee Day, 20 May 2022, 300,000 bees were introduced into the natural setting of Bottega's vineyard in the Prosecco hills. The initiative formed part of the estate's sustainability program.
Bees facilitate pollination by carrying pollen between flowers, helping fruit formation and the conservation of biodiversity. Their ability to thrive also provides an indicator of the environmental health of the area.
The company-owned vineyard is in Vittorio Veneto, within a partly wooded landscape, and is planted exclusively with Glera. The bees were initially described as being distributed among six hives.
