About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Sangiovese grows in Castelnuovo dell'Abate.

Grapes

Sangiovese is always the main variety. Depending on the vintage, small amounts of other grape varieties may be added.

Vinification

Fermentation with native yeasts and an extended malolactic fermentation both take place in stainless steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine ages for 3 years in large Slavonian oak casks of 20 and 35 hl and in old French oak tonneaux of 500 L. It is bottled without fining or filtration and matures in bottle for at least six more months.

Tasting profile

Juicy and enveloping, with impressive depth, body and complexity. A friendly Brunello, elegant and classy.

Serving and pairing

The 2015 vintage is recommended for drinking after 2022.
