About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco come from 25-year-old vines in the distinctive microclimate of the province of Brescia. Planting density is higher than traditional for the area. The vineyards undergo careful bunch thinning and a gradual reduction in the use of inorganic fertilizers.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested during the last ten days of August. Fermentation takes place for two weeks in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18–20 °C.
Ageing
The wine matures for nine months in barriques with regular bâtonnage, followed by two months in bottle. Its structure allows it to develop over five to six years, revealing further layers of flavour and aroma.
Tasting profile
Refined and elegant, with a graceful palate, clear citrus and mineral notes, a firm tannic backbone and a long finish.
Label / history
The wine was first released in 1972.
