About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from 10 different plots in Corte Franca. The vines are 34 years old on average.

Vinification

The Chardonnay is harvested by hand during the first week of September. The grapes stay in contact with their skins for one day, then ferment in new oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation also takes place.

Ageing

The wine rests on its lees in oak barrels for 9 months, then spends 2.5 years in bottle in the winery's cellars before release.

Tasting profile

Elegant, with a delicate, inviting aroma. The palate is rounded and complex, with excellent structure.

Label / history

The text gives 1893 as the year of first production. The wine was created to stand alongside internationally acclaimed Chardonnays. Ca' del Bosco is based in Erbusco, in Franciacorta, and was founded by Maurizio Zanella in 1968. The estate owns 230 acres of vineyards planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir.
