A land that is understood is a land that is respected

INTERRA® Scan, developed by Syngenta, reads natural isotopes with a sensor positioned approximately 60 cm above the soil. It produces a high-density initial map without touching the ground and identifies the most significant locations for physical sampling.

Field and laboratory data are integrated into meter-by-meter maps of texture, water-holding capacity, nutrient levels and pH. Those maps are converted into prescriptions that agricultural machinery can execute with centimeter-level precision. Fertilization, irrigation and soil management can consequently be adjusted to actual local conditions, saving resources, reducing waste and increasing efficiency. The project embodies a model in which technology supports both vineyard quality and the long-term condition of the land.
