Casa Belfi, naturally sparkling wines in harmony with nature
Casa Belfi grew from the encounter between producer Albino Armani and oenologist Maurizio Donadi. Born in 1977, Donadi trained at the Istituto di Conegliano and the University of Padua before founding his winery at San Polo di Piave in 1999. The area’s Glera and Raboso provided the foundation for his work with naturally sparkling wines.
Donadi met Armani in 2000, and they developed the idea of a healthier, more sustainable winegrowing project. Casa Belfi’s production draws on Trevigiana and family traditions, observing seasonal cycles and recovering the older form of Prosecco refermented in bottle and left undisgorged. Small growers had preserved this method after modern sparkling-wine techniques became widespread.
The vineyards are managed without chemical fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides. Organic agronomy, Steiner-inspired practices and biodynamic preparations support an approach intended to follow natural processes rather than override them.
