Casisano’s 2021 harvest

The 2021 growing season was dry across Tuscany, but rain on Casisano’s side of Montalcino at the end of August helped the vines maintain healthy vegetation and balance sugar accumulation with phenolic maturity.

Harvest began at the end of September and the final grapes were picked on 10 October, making it the latest Casisano harvest in twenty years. The grapes arrived healthy and in excellent condition. The resulting wines showed strong natural acidity, vivid color and notable structure. Emiliano Falsini emphasized that harvest timing follows an entire year of work and must allow the grapes to express both Sangiovese Grosso and their place of origin.
