About this wine
Grapes
Chardonnay is blended with a small proportion of Viognier.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in early September. After destemming, they undergo approximately 24 hours of low-temperature skin contact before gentle pressing. Half of the must ferments in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of about 16 °C; the remainder ferments in used oak barrels and undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for six months.
Label / history
The name Rondinaia refers to a tower on the estate where swallows nest; rondine is Italian for “swallow.”
