LIFEGREENGRAPES’ answer

LIFE GREEN GRAPES compared five vineyard-protection strategies in three pilot Sangiovese plots at Castello di Gabbiano. The approaches ranged from integrated management to organic regimes with copper reduced by 50% or eliminated. Cover-crop management, resistance-inducing products, forecasting models and careful treatment timing were combined. The trials maintained production at levels comparable with normal management and improved environmental performance. When disease pressure was low, the lowest-input strategy achieved complete protection while improving crop quality, quantity and profitability.
