Firriato’s 2025 harvest

The 2025 season combined regular rainfall with a warm but not excessive summer. Winter and spring precipitation replenished soil-water reserves, allowing the vines to complete the summer without marked water or physiological stress. A mild winter advanced ripening slightly, and targeted agronomic work was used to retain balance and uniformity through the vegetative cycle.

Ripening proceeded more slowly on Etna than in Firriato’s lower and western Sicilian vineyards. Carricante and Catarratto opened the volcanic harvest, followed by Nerello Mascalese, whose picking was expected to conclude during the final ten days of October. The Etna fruit reached a balanced relationship among sugar, acidity and phenolic maturity.

Agronomist Tanino Sant’Angelo connected the result with precision viticulture, biodiversity protection and attention to the identity of each growing area. The vintage was expected to support the production of Etna DOC wines with healthy fruit and well-defined aromatic profiles.
