Vineyard and terroir
Lamo I.G.T. comes from Vigna Nuova, a 2 ha vineyard planted in 2018. It lies between Montalcino and the hills of Val d’Orcia, within a natural amphitheatre overlooking the Asso valley at approximately 300 m above sea level. The site faces south and has calcareous-clayey silt soil. The vines are Guyot-trained.
The vineyard is managed under certified organic farming. The estate uses organic fertiliser and green manure, hoes the soil twice yearly and limits vineyard treatments to copper and sulphur. Pronounced summer temperature variation characterises the local microclimate.
