About this wine
Vinification
A white-wine base is fortified with brandy and blended with more than 25 extracts of herbs, spices, seeds and roots.
Tasting profile
Gentian and wormwood give the wine its distinctive character. Similar in style to vermouth, it is sweeter and softer than traditional vermouth.
Label / history
The wine is based on an old Italian recipe developed in the nineteenth century. “Americano” does not refer to the American continent: the name derives from the root of amer, meaning “bitter.”
