About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Malbec comes from Vigna del Bruciato in Bolgheri. The vines are trained to spurred cordon, with production limited to 2,000 g per plant. Harvest takes place by hand at the beginning of September.

Grapes

100% Malbec.

Vinification

The hand-picked grapes are pressed directly. The must ferments at low temperature and is then bottled with a small quantity of residual sugar, which provides the substrate for a natural second fermentation in bottle. The wine is not disgorged.

Ageing

At least four months in bottle.

Technical data

Frizzante Ancestrale Rosato IGT Toscana. Alcohol: 10.5%.

Tasting profile

Powder-pink in colour, with a distinctly fruity nose of strawberry and white peach. The palate is fresh, delicate, lively and immediately approachable.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 8–10°C. Suitable as an aperitif and with fish, first courses or cured meats.

Label / history

First produced in 2018, “5” was presented as the first wine from its area to undergo natural bottle refermentation without disgorgement.
