About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Nero d’Avola from central-southern Sicily. The 2024 growing season had a dry autumn and winter followed by a dry spring and a hot summer.

Grapes

100% Nero d’Avola.

Vinification

After destemming, the berries are gently crushed and transferred to fermentation tanks. Fermentation proceeds at 24–28°C for about 10 days, followed by a further 5 days of skin contact. The wine is then racked and undergoes malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

At least 3 months in tanks, followed by at least 1 month in bottle before release.

Technical data

2024 vintage. Alcohol 13% vol.; total acidity 5.7 g/L; pH 3.40. Bottle format: 75 cl. The first vintage was produced in 2018.

Tasting profile

Deep red with purple reflections. Fresh, balanced aromas of marasca cherry, cherry and blackcurrant lead to an assertive but fresh palate. The juicy fruit and lively freshness make the wine easy to drink.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 14–16°C. Pair with red meat, roasts and medium-aged cheeses. Intended for enjoyment within 3 years.

Vintage notes

Harvest ran from the first through the fourth week of September 2024.
