About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The 12 ha vineyard lies close to the Slovenian border. The vines grow in poor, stony soils containing loose marl and yield 1–1.5 kg of fruit per vine. The soils impart a mineral character to the grapes.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at a high level of ripeness and pressed as whole bunches at the winery. The wine is then fermented.
Ageing
The wine rests for five months in cement tanks, while 20% matures in oak barrels of approximately 4 hl.
