About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow at approximately 120 m in Tauriano, in the foothills of the Dolomite Alps. The vineyards face south, and the vines average 25 years of age.
Vinification
Selected grapes are harvested by hand at full ripeness, usually in early September. The must remains briefly in contact with the skins to produce the Ramato style, then ferments with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures in steel tanks for four months.
Label / history
The wine was created through a collaboration between Fantinel and American singer Mary J. Blige, a nine-time Grammy Award winner. Its name recalls Blige’s childhood love of sunshine and warmth and her mother’s nickname for her, “Sun Goddess.” For Blige, the name also expresses a connection among nature, the character of the wines she prefers, her personal style and Fantinel’s style.
