About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are selected from a single vineyard at Fantinel’s Tauriano estate, in the heart of Grave del Friuli. The site has a distinctive location and a microclimate that promote aroma, freshness and strength in the fruit.
Vinification
The grapes undergo gentle pressing, followed by fermentation in a small pressure tank for more than 100 days.
Ageing
The wine receives extended ageing in bottle.

“The Independent” was launched as a Fantinel project in 2014, conceived to retain the essential traditions of Italian Prosecco production while reaching international markets.
The Fantinel winery originated in 1969, when restaurateur and hotel owner Paron Mario bought his first vineyards to produce wine for his customers. His children expanded the family’s holdings in 1973. The family now owns about 121 hectares of vineyards across Collio, Colli Orientali del Friuli and Grave.
