About this wine

Vinification

Maceration and fermentation take place in stainless-steel tanks under strict temperature control to preserve fresh fruit and the variety’s distinctive aromas.

Ageing

The wine remains in stainless steel before bottling, then rests for four months in a cool room.

Tasting profile

Intense and savoury, with fruit and berry aromas of cherry, raspberry and plum, complemented by sweet brown spices and smoke.

Label / history

Feudo Maccari was established in 2000, when owner Antonio Moretti began acquiring land from small farmers around the commune of Noto on the advice of his friend and oenologist Carlo Ferrini. The estate eventually assembled around 50 small vineyards, some already planted with vines; some varieties were subsequently replaced. Its first wines were made from the 2002 vintage. Carlo Ferrini and Gioia Cresti are involved in the winemaking.
