Vineyard and terroir
The Carricante and Catarratto fruit is grown in a distinctively situated Mount Etna vineyard exposed to abundant sunshine and shaped by its own microclimate. The soils are young, fertile and rich in nutrients. Together with the vineyard practices, these conditions give the grapes a balance of acidity and softness.

Label / history
Firriato was founded in 1985 by Salvatore Di Gaetano in the ancient town of Erice, near Trapani. The surrounding area has Italy’s highest density of vineyards. The estate subsequently expanded through the creation of new wines, the acquisition of additional farms and improvements to its winemaking techniques and production equipment.
