About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from two vineyards at 400–480 m above sea level. The first, in the Bricco delle Viole Cru, dates to 1950; the slightly younger second vineyard dates to 1955. Ripening is prolonged at this altitude, contributing aromatic complexity and richness. Early sunrise, late sunset, wide diurnal temperature variations and a gentle breeze shape the microclimate. Bricco delle Viole takes its name from the violets that bloom there early.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness into 20 kg crates, then destemmed and crushed before maceration and alcoholic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 30 months in conical oak vats.
Tasting profile
Refined and deep, with bright aromas, aromatic complexity and richness, finely shaped tannins and subtle minerality.
