Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow on limestone and marl soils. The grapes are harvested in late September.

Welschriesling is also known as Riesling Italico.
Vinification
The wine ferments on its skins in amphorae for seven months, using naturally occurring yeasts, with no added yeast or temperature control. The beeswax-lined Georgian terracotta amphorae are buried in the ground up to their necks, allowing the surrounding earth to regulate temperature naturally.
Ageing
It matures in large oak barrels for 36 months. Bottling takes place during the waning moon, without clarification or filtration.
Tasting profile
The 2004 vintage is elegant and aristocratic, with a rich, complex yet delicate bouquet of fruit, flowers and herbs. The palate is soft and silky, harmoniously combining fruit flavours with mineral nuances.
