About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Umbria. The La Fiorita estate occupies about 100 ha on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, between the southern shore of Lake Trasimeno and Panicale, with 32 ha under vine. Its clay-limestone soils and mild climate, characterized by warm summers and cool nights, promote slow ripening.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, selecting ripe fruit with balanced sugar and acidity. They are gently pressed, with almost no contact between juice and skins. The clear juice undergoes its first fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. A second fermentation follows in sealed pressurized tanks using the Charmat–Martinotti method.
Ageing
The wine spends 2–3 months on the lees, which softens its acidity and gives it a more seamless, rounded texture.
Tasting profile
Lively, bright and expressive, with delicate, refined and persistent bubbles. Crisp freshness is accompanied by unusual depth and character, with fruity and floral notes, light spice and a structured, rounded texture.
Label / history
Ottagonale is a collection of four sparkling wines, all produced from selected grapes using the Charmat method and presented in Lamborghini’s signature eight-sided bottles. Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the estate in the 1960s after leaving the automotive business and returning to agriculture. His daughter, Patrizia Lamborghini, has managed it since the 1990s, and the winery works with oenologist Riccardo Cotarella.
