About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow at the producer’s estate in Umbria. La Fiorita lies near the border between Umbria and Tuscany, between the southern shore of Lake Trasimeno and Panicale. The approximately 100-hectare estate includes 32 hectares of vineyards. Its clay-limestone soils and mild climate, marked by warm summers and cool nights, support slow ripening.
Grapes
The fruit is selected before blending.
Vinification
The wine is made by the Charmat method. Following the initial fermentation, the second fermentation takes place in sealed, pressurized tanks, producing fine, persistent bubbles.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for 2–4 months.
Tasting profile
Fine, lasting bubbles accompany a delicate fruity aroma. The palate is fresh, polished and elegant, with a refined, balanced structure.
Label / history
Ottagonale sparkling wines are presented in distinctive eight-sided bottles; Icona Oro has a gold finish. Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the winery in the 1960s after leaving the automotive business and returning to his agricultural roots. His daughter, Patrizia Lamborghini, has managed the estate since the 1990s, and winemaker Riccardo Cotarella is involved in its work.
