Grapes
The recipe combines vermouth made from Moscato Canello with red wine made from Barbera.
Vinification
The wine also incorporates an extract made according to an old recipe.
Ageing
The Moscato Canello-based vermouth spends one year in wooden barrels. The extract is aged for eight years in small bottles.
Label / history
Gran Lusso was created for Martini’s 150th anniversary. Its origins lie in the original Lusso recipe developed by Luigi Rossi in 1871, which winemakers Giuseppe Musso and Ivano Tanutti later reworked in a modern form. Production was limited to 150,000 bottles.
