About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are grown in the Dogliani region, in vineyards with medium-textured soils. The vines are 46 years old.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, then destemmed and gently pressed. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place on the skins for 16 days in stainless steel vats at a controlled 25–28 °C. Before ageing, the wine is decanted and cold-stabilised without fining.

Ageing

After malolactic fermentation the wine stays in stainless steel tanks until bottling, which took place at the end of January 2024. It then rests for two months in bottle at a constant 14 °C before release.

Label / history

"San Luigi" was first produced in 1978.
