The conference Il vino ed il bosco – Alberi che fanno bene ai vigneti explored how forest and vineyard can form a more balanced ecosystem. Arboriculturist Stefano Lorenzi and forestry specialist Luca Mamprin explained that trees shade rows and reduce grape sunburn, sustain humidity, soften wind and lessen hail damage. Woodland biodiversity also helps reveal a site’s ecological potential and encourages a wider range of spontaneous yeasts on grape skins.
